Good news if you are connected to Virgin Media,
VIRGIN Media is set to fuel the row with rival BSkyB as it prepares to unveil a deal to screen episodes of hit US show Lost on its video-on-demand channel, reports suggest today.
The cable network, which rebranded from NTL earlier this month, is understood to be announcing tomorrow that it has secured a deal with Lost producer ABC to air all three series of the show.
The move would follow just days after Virgin Media said it had failed to reach an agreement on rates with BSkyB over a number of channels including Sky One, which is currently exclusively airing Lost in the UK.
Virgin Media's contracts to air Sky One, Two, Three, Sky News and Sky Sports News end this week unless the two broadcasting giants can agree on a renewal price.
A report in a Sunday newspaper said Virgin's agreement with ABC will allow it to make all three series of Lost available to viewers via the new Virgin Central channel, but Virgin viewers will have to wait until August to see the rest of the current series unless talks between the firms resume this week.
Virgin Media was unavailable for comment today.

ARGH
Bloody hate Sky, always have, always will.
Whatever the Sky adverts say, this is all down to Sky. They asked for a incredible amount from Virgin which meant that they would lose money even if their ratings were through the roof.
Rupert Murdoch has far too much power and doesn't play fair. I think its a good thing that Virgin are now going to make the more popular shows available online, despite Rupert "****" Murdoch's best efforts.

From Virgin media:
Worried about losing Lost?
We're planning to add all 3 series of Lost to our revolutionary on demand service. Series 1 and 2 will be available soon and series 3 is coming your way later this year. What's more, since they're all available on demand, they'll be ready for you to watch anytime you like. Watch one, watch them all, back to back – without the ads.
Virgin Media is the only place to get these ground-breaking services and we want to put you in control.
Whats happened to the basic channels?
* As you may have heard, we've spent the last few weeks trying to make sure that all of Sky's channels remain on Virgin Media.
* But Sky asked us to pay such an unrealistically high price that keeping them would mean asking you to pay the kind of increase that is simply unfair.
* We refuse to stand by and see our customers get ripped off.
* So thanks to Sky, some of their non-premium channels, like Sky One and Sky News have disappeared from our service.

Today it was announced that Prison Break is going to Sky as well, and I noticed this:
From BBC
Sky One poaches Prison Break show
Sky One has poached the critically acclaimed US drama Prison Break from terrestrial broadcaster Five.
The show, about a man who escapes death row, is one of Five's biggest hits, attracting two million viewers.
It joins 24 and Lost among programmes which Sky snapped up after they established an audience elsewhere.
"The edge of the seat drama is the perfect addition to our must-see slate of US programming," said the channel's head of acquisitions, David Smyth.
A spokesperson for Five shrugged off the loss, saying: "In the light of Prison Break's declining ratings we didn't think season three represented good value for money."
She added that the drama's share of the TV audience had fallen from 9.2% during the first series to 8.5% for more recent episodes.
The decline in viewing figures is unlikely to be halted by the move to Sky.
The decline in viewing figures is unlikely to be halted by the move to Sky.
When the third series of Lost transferred to Sky One last year from Channel 4, the show's audience halved.
Thats terrible, millions of people are missing out because of bloody Murdoch :pirate:
