Thank you Damo!
I can no longer access any streaming media from work. I really appreciate you putting the promo links and the epi links up every week!
Posted this in the epi discussion thread, but want to discuss how it relates to what we were shown in the promo for the finale:
Speaking of Charlie...I thought his Grea-*test*-('") Hits list was sweet. I actually shed a tear or two when he was saying his goodbyes to Aaron and Hurley. Touching. What Des said to him on the boat though.....that maybe he was having all these visions b/c he was supposed to take charlie's place....hmmmm. Not sure about that. Do you think the writers have set up that one of them is a gonner? I don't want either of them to get offed....but they can't keep up this story line much longer. Either one of them dies, or they give us a brilliant resolution to it. Did everyone catch the promo for next week? I'll move my thoughts to the promo thread......
OK, here goes...I think that in his vision this time, Des only saw Charlie dive, saw the flashing yellow light, and a switch. In his "translation" of his vision, he assumes that Charlie drowns. He made no mention of two women with guns, charlie being tied up and beaten, and himself pointing a gun at Patchy (the things we see in the promo)
OR- did he see himself getting hit with the oar, then coming to and diving down after Charlie, and just not tell him that part? Does Des think that if Charlie believed he was sacrificing himself he would be "set free" of his "death curse"? That the universe would "set itself straight" as he has said before?
any thoughts?
I agree. I think that Charlie had already come to terms with his fate and he didn't really want another chance and he didn't want to be responsible for Desmond's death. I can understand his mentality.
